Who we are
Our website address is: https://genape.ai.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Google User Data Policy & Limited Use Disclosure
Use of Google API Data & Compliance with Google Policies
- Access to Google User Data
GenApe connects to your Google Account via OAuth to enable features such as sending user-initiated emails. We only request the scope strictly required for these features (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send).
- How We Use Google API Data
Data obtained through Google Workspace APIs (including email transmission tokens and metadata) is used solely to execute user-initiated email delivery from our platform. GenApe does NOT read, process, store, access, or index your inbox messages, email content, or contacts.
- Data Sharing & Disclosure
GenApe strictly adheres to the principle of not sharing or selling user data. We do NOT share, transfer, or disclose any Google user data or credentials with third parties, advertisers, or external platforms.
- AI Model Training Prohibition (Google Limited Use Requirement)
Google Workspace user data obtained via Google APIs is NEVER used to train, retrain, improve, or fine-tune generalized AI or Machine Learning models.
- Compliance Statement
GenApe’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Threads Platform Data
1. What Data We Process
When you connect a Threads account, GenApe processes data covered by the permissions you approve on Meta’s authorization screen:
- Account data: your Threads account ID, username, the scope of permissions granted, and the OAuth access token and its expiry.
- Data required for the actions you request: when you ask GenApe to search, publish, or reply, the post ID, public post text, author username, timestamp, media type, and permalink.
- Operation records: the type, time, and result status of Threads actions, plus security logs that exclude post text and tokens.
We do not receive your password, direct messages, content from private accounts, or non-public follower lists.
2. How We Process It, and Our Service Providers
When you use AI features to draft a post or reply, your instructions and the public text of the post you selected are sent to the large language model providers GenApe uses, solely to generate that draft. GenApe has contracted with these providers to prohibit them from using this data for their own purposes or for training their models. The current provider list is published in the GenApe help center.
GenApe’s application and databases are hosted on Google Cloud Platform.
These providers are GenApe’s Service Providers. They may process data only on GenApe’s instructions and only to deliver the service you requested, and are bound to the same Meta platform obligations as GenApe. Apart from this, and where required by law or where you expressly direct us to share, we do not provide Threads Platform Data to any third party.
3. Purposes
We use this data only to: establish and maintain the connection you request; display public search results at your direction; publish a post or reply on your behalf after your explicit confirmation; generate drafts at your direction; prevent duplicate publishing, abuse, and unauthorized access; and perform necessary security auditing and troubleshooting.
4. What We Do Not Do
We do not sell, license, or purchase Threads Platform Data, and we do not use it to train general-purpose artificial intelligence models. We also do not:
- build advertising audiences or profiles unrelated to this feature, or build or augment any user profile without your valid consent;
- discriminate, or disadvantage anyone, based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or medical or genetic condition;
- make eligibility determinations about people, including for housing, employment, insurance, education, credit, government benefits, or immigration status;
- perform, facilitate, or provide tools for surveillance, including processing data about people, places, groups, or events for law enforcement or national security purposes;
- attempt to decode, circumvent, re-identify, de-anonymize, unhash, or reverse-engineer Platform Data provided by Meta.
5. Retention and Deletion
OAuth access tokens are stored on GenApe servers in encrypted form and are never sent to the browser. Public search results are cached only briefly to support pagination and performance; we do not assemble them into a persistent, queryable database or archive of posts. Operation records and security logs are retained for up to 12 months and are then deleted or anonymized.
We delete the relevant data as soon as reasonably possible when any of the following occurs: you disconnect or delete your GenApe account; you revoke access in Threads/Meta; Meta sends a deauthorization or data-deletion request; GenApe stops operating this feature; retaining the data is no longer necessary for a legitimate business purpose; or deletion is required by law. Where law requires retention, we retain the data only for that required period.
6. Your Rights
You may at any time disconnect Threads from GenApe’s Connections page, or select “Delete all data for this connection” to remove the Connector connection, encrypted credentials, metadata, and operation records in one step. You may also revoke access in your Threads/Meta app-permission settings; GenApe executes a Meta-verified data-deletion request against the same scope and reports the status back. These deletion controls are available to every user who can access GenApe, regardless of plan.
To access, correct, or export personal data related to the Threads integration, or to report a problem or a security vulnerability, contact GenApe through its contact page or at [email protected].
7. Age Requirement and Other Terms
This feature is not available to anyone under 13, or under the minimum age required in their jurisdiction. If we learn we have collected data from such a user, we will delete it promptly.
Threads functionality and data handling are also subject to the Meta Platform Terms, Threads API requirements, and applicable law. Related functionality may change or become unavailable if Meta restricts, discontinues, or changes an API. We will announce material changes to this section before they take effect, on the GenApe website or by email.
